As part of this year’s London Games Festival Londoners will be able to enjoy over fifty diverse and exciting events ranging from public displays to industry conferences and seminars.

Video Games Live is a ground-breaking new live performance showcasing the thrilling music of video games, performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and choir, and the cutting-edge visuals, interactivity, technology and fun that video games provide. The evening includes performances of some of the greatest game franchises and music, including Mario, Zelda and Halo, through to a special retro classic arcade medley, featuring over 20 games such as Pong, Donkey Kong, Space Invaders and Tetris.

Wow, its been quite a summer here at Cake Towers and with Bestival taking place at the weekend so heralds the closure of Cake’s Summer of Love 2007. Over the (non) summer various members of staff worked in a vast array of roles at nearly all the major festivals across the UK (and one member of staff even reached Texas!). Following this year’s breath taking festival,  the tickets for V Festival 2008 will be going on sale at a discounted 2007 price on Tuesday 21st August. Make sure you get yours then because they will sell-out fast!

Festival goers in the VIP section at Weston Park this afternoon got a special treat when The Holloways turned up at the Cake press tent to perform an inpromptu gig.

As the band set their equipment up, the crowd around the tent started to grow and by the time the first song began the humble press marquee was beginning to fill to the brim.

The group performed a few of their most popular songs including their new single Generator for the assembled celebrity guests and photographers before departing to prepare for their set this afternoon at 6:50 on the Virgin Mobile Union stage.
