Holloways play in the Cake tent

Festival goers in the VIP section at Weston Park this afternoon got a special treat when The Holloways turned up at the Cake press tent to perform an inpromptu gig.

As the band set their equipment up, the crowd around the tent started to grow and by the time the first song began the humble press marquee was beginning to fill to the brim.

The group performed a few of their most popular songs including their new single Generator for the assembled celebrity guests and photographers before departing to prepare for their set this afternoon at 6:50 on the Virgin Mobile Union stage.

Here’s a pic from the performance…

Saturday end of the day report

Saturday, August 18th, 2007

Well the first day is officially over with some amazing acts at both events. At Staffs some of the highlights include an absolutely breathtaking set from the Manic Street Preachers, The Killers headline performance, Basement Jaxx giving it their all and Iggy Pop putting on a brilliant performance.

Tomorrow we are looking forward to seeing the likes of The Editors, The Kooks, Foo Fighters, Snow Patrol, Jarvis Cocker and Sinead O’Connor. Whatever the weather, the line-up is scorching!

Now after a long day on our feet it is time to go back to our hotel (the perks of the job!) for a much needed drink and a good night’s sleep before tomorrow.
