V Good Show!

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

Anyone who was at V Festival this year or saw any of the highlights knows that V was THE festival of the summer. But while the festival rocked front of stage, Cake was rocking it behind the scenes to make sure it was another storming success.

From handling the world’s press and photographers (and becoming photographer’s assistants in some instances!), running the box office, to managing the V Festival website (and unearthing the hottest new TV presenter Fleur JR!), Cake can run a festival like no other.

From Kings of Leon, Muse, Stereophonics, Amy Winehouse, Lenny Kravitz to Girls Aloud, Kaiser Chiefs, The Prodigy and many, many more, the line-up made for an amazing weekend of music.

There was plenty of mud, sweat and cheers all weekend, though for Chelmsford substitute mud for sunshine (sorry Stafford!).

We’re all now recovering here at Cake Towers after a V good job well done.

Cake’s Road to V

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

So the magical mystery tour began with the typical traffic jams as we crossed various terrains to take us to the Chelmsford field of dreams known as V Festival.

The fun bus with Nic, Lizzy, Will, Aby, Emma I and Kate F cruised at around a speed of around 5mph (thanks to the queues) with a journey time of around 4 hours (instead of the usual 1.5).

Despite not driving for nine months and never facing the wonders of an automatic, Nic navigated the road to V, with Lizzy as wing-man in charge of musical accompaniment.

Aby kept the troops fed and watered, though with so many sweets and biccies a sugar crash was inevitable - though affected some more than others! Kate managed to rescue Emma for the arms of slumber though.

However, the biggest revelation of the trip is the newly crowned Daddy of Cake – Pimp Willy! It takes a certain kind of man to be able to handle five ladies for four hours…
