V Festival Weston Park: Top Secret Foo Fighters gig

Saturday, August 18th, 2007

As well as the advertised gigs at each festival the Foo Fighters will be performing a second time under a pseudonym. Fans of the group should look out for an act called 606 performing on the Channel 4 stage tomorrow.

Thanks to Nick at Virgin for sorting these pics out. A few shots on the ground from the Weston site…

Festival crowds

Sadly we can’t do a lot about the weather but there’s a good crowd not letting the mud get to them - and right now it’s stopped raining. The forecast for tomorrow is actually not that bad either…

Working down t’pit

V Festival Crowd
A pit’s eye view
One of the main jobs we do here is running the press office for the V Festival. This involves helping journalists with their various inquiries and within this, one part of it is what is known as the pit run.

This involves escorting photographers into the no mans land between the crowd and stage to take shots of the band. It also means we get the perk of being right up front to see the band. Sadly the photographers are only allowed in for three songs so we have to leave after this.

But having just got back from doing a pit run for The Cribs, it’s definitely a plus point for working here… well that and sleeping in a hotel at the end of the day :)

V Have Lift-Off

Friday, August 17th, 2007

This year’s V Festival is officially underway with Cake’s team departing at the crack of dawn on Friday to make their way up to the events at Chelmsford and Staffordshire.

The journey was not totally uneventful for the Weston Park team, with huge tailbacks off the motorway meaning the journey up there took a huge seven hours! Still it gave the team plenty of time to perfect their ‘Name Game’ skills and even find time for a couple of creative Brainstorms.

After a quick site tour, we all settled down for dinner and a good nights sleep, ready for the busy weekend ahead.

Check back here regularly for updates from this year’s V!
