Game Over (till next year)
It’s been a busy couple of weeks for the London Games Festival team. The Festival, a celebration of UK Gaming culture, consisted of over 40 events at various venues across London. From video game music played by the London Philharmonia Orchestra, to a gaming extravaganza staged by EA games in Trafalgar Square, the festival truly had something for everyone!
Stand out moments include dolling up for the video game BAFTA’s, and watching The Hoosiers play through the drizzle at the Trafalgar Square show. But it wasn’t all glitz and glamour: the festival also addressed more serious issues, with Dr Tanya Byron talking about current concerns over violence in video games and Learning and Teaching Scotland demonstrating how video games can be used to help improve learning skills in children.
All in all we’ve had a whale of a time, and are wondering how on earth we’re going to fill the gaping void in our lives now London Games Festival is over for another year!
