The meteoric rise to success being enjoyed by Nintendo’s Wii since its launch is on the up yet again following another succesful week.

This week Wii received the coveted ‘European Gadget of the Year’ award at the Shiny Awards. Not only was it the only category voted for by the public, but Wii received well over 50% of the votes. Cake Account Manager Sian is pictured below accepting it (far left).

In more Wii news this week the latest sales figures from America and Japan show that in the first month of 2007 Wii has more than doubled the sales of any of the other next-generation games consoles. This sparked one US analyst to predict that 30% of all US and Japanese homes will have a Wii by 2011!
