Wii came, Wii saw and Wii conquered
After an amazing launch which saw people all over Europe rushing out to buy Nintendo’s new games console, the first official figures are in.
Wii sold a staggering 105,000 machines in the first weekend on sale in the UK, making it the fastest selling games console ever (thrashing the previous record of 70,000 consoles set by Xbox 360).
What’s more Europe saw similar success with 325,000 consoles sold in just two days making Wii the fastest selling European Home Console ever!
As if that wasn’t enough for one week, Nintendo’s handheld the DS managed to have its best week ever since launch, selling a massive 515,000 consoles across Europe, a figure no other console has ever matched.
